The past several months I’ve stretched a lot as a photographer, and I’m excited to continue to become better with experience. As I was narrowing down my selection to my top five favorite images, I realized how many photos I’m proud of! Below are five of my favorites. Each one reflects my style, and they’re all distinct from each other.
I captured this photo on a broken camera in week 2 after a lot of frustration, but it turned out so well. The lighting was perfect and I ended up leaving it unedited.
This is one of my favorite portraits – not just because it’s my favorite sister. I love the intensity and mystery in her eyes, and how the shadows add to that intensity. The stark background of the beach makes her green hair pop even more, and highlights the warmth of her face.
I love close up photography with bokeh, but this macro photoshoot took it to the next level. I love the vibrant colors of the peacock feather, and I especially love the detail you can see in the water droplets and how they refract the light.
I didn’t expect to love this photo as much as I do, but it keeps captivating my eye. I think a large part of it is the composition, with rocks on the foreground, and the capitol building in the distance behind the flock of boats. I also love to color coming from the low sunset.
I love the small details in this photo that tell a story, like the water and mud on the shoes. I also love the super simple composition, and the contrasting angle of the railing and the shoes. I also love the subtle pop of color from the leaves and how it contrasts with the blue/gray of the shoes.
