JBLM Cares

I was approached to create this logo for the first-ever military autism center, located in the Tacoma, WA area on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The concept they wanted was clear: puzzle pieces in the camouflage design of each main branch of the armed forces.

I did my research, looking at close up samples of all different designs of camouflage, and checking that they were the most up-to-date designs. I took photos and use those photos as a basis as I recreated a swatch of each design. I made sure it was detailed enough that it was distinguishable, but not so detailed that it was distracting.

The design was well-received, and I made minor adjustments to the arrangement of the puzzle pieces and the color of the text to be in line with the image of the program.

Since creating the design in 2016, it’s been minorly redesigned by in-house designers but is still in use today at JBLM CARES.
